Journals recording daily transaction's of Elmendorf's mercantile business. Entries record the date of the transaction, the items purchased, the amount due and the page of the ledger account to which the transaction was posted. The volumes also record credits to those ledger accounts in the same way. The collection contains a complete run of journals with a single gap between 1777 and 1785.
